The SALESIAN PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE (SPDO) is based in Lansdowne, Cape Town and is responsible for the development projects of the AFM..

We help research and facilitate the launch of new projects. All funding is channelled through the SPDO. Our mission is to increase the capacity of the AFM through the planning, coordination, research, fundraising, monitoring and evaluation, and networking activities in order to be effective and sustainable. |
Who we are

- Father Eddie O’Neill: Our Director is Father Eddie O’Neill. He also had been the Chairman of the Salesian Projects Office Management Committee from 2002 to 2006. In addition to that he is the Vicar for Property and Development for the Archdiocese of Cape Town and lectures in Canon Law at the Seminary in Cape Town and at the St Augustine University in Johannesburg.. Recently he was appointed, by Archbishop Henry, as a Trustee of the newly formed Catholic Schools Trust. Click here to email Father Eddie.

- Yolanda Timm: As our Fundraising Assistant, she looks after relationships with our donors, sends them regular reports and makes sure that projects implement the activities which they had described in their requests for funding. Click here to email Yolanda

- Liz Howes: Liz is our accountant and has the task of keeping track of all incoming and outgoing funds. Click here to email Liz
- Kayleen Carney: Kayleen joined the SPDO staff in May 2007. She was employed to assist Liz Howes, the accountant and to supervise the finances of the EU grant to the Salesian Institute and the SPDO. She also liaises with the finance department at the Institute, as well as with DMOS Comide in Belgium. A parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians parish in Lansdowne, her contract has just been renewed for a further year. Click here to email Kayleen
